TBI-020 Brass Impression – Trilobite

The Tek Brass Impressions are a type of stamp.  They are made from brass that is laser carved into a variety of designs. Each design is then smoothed and polished.  The brass is only 1.5mm thick, but the designs range in width from 2.0 cm to 4 cm.  The thin wire designs can be placed on a work surface, and then hot glass can be pressed or rolled over the top of the designs, leaving a physical pattern in the glass.  This physical  texture can be highlighted by fuming with silver or gold, by pressing the texture into glass powder, or by adding a layer of glass (or other designs) on top of the texture. Stretching and pulling the hot glass can be an excellent way to make the texture unique and interesting.
